The Philip Reagan Haynes Always See the Good Foundation is honored to continue Philip Reagan Haynes’ legacy by supporting students who share his passion for life, creativity, and determination. Students who, like Philip, express themselves through art, music, athletics, and other creative pursuits.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Graduating seniors from Fleming Island High School, Orange Park High School, or Ridgeview High School, accepted into a college or university.

  • Must demonstrate active involvement in one or more (preferred) of the following: sports, music, visual or performing arts.

Application for High School Students

Encouraging students to pursue what they love.

The Philip Reagan Haynes See the Good Scholarship will provide support to deserving students at Florida State University pursuing a major at the College of Motion Picture Arts to honor the life of Philip Reagan Haynes. It will serve as a lasting tribute to his life and legacy. This scholarship honors his love for the arts, his positivity, and his ability to always see the good in everyone around him.   
Established as an endowed fund, the scholarship will be held in perpetuity to generate income for its intended purpose. Once endowed, it will remain permanently designated as such, ensuring that under no circumstances will it revert to a non-endowed fund.

Application for College Students

Community college students transfering into FSU in their junior year, that are interested in film.

While we finalize the application process, we’d like to offer you the opportunity to preview the essay prompts, along with the single video prompt, you'll choose from. Applicants will also need to submit a short film, with guidelines available below. Stay tuned—applications will be opening soon!

  1. Imagine you have the opportunity to speak at your graduation ceremony. What message would you share with your peers and why?

  2. In moments of adversity, finding something positive can be life-changing. Describe a time when you were able to find the good in a tough situation and how it helped you move forward.

  3. Write about something you’re passionate about or interested in right now. Choose anything that excites or inspires you, and share why it’s meaningful to you.

Short Film Prompt:

Submit a creative short film (up to 2 minutes) showcasing your passion for film and how it reflects Philip's spirit of creativity and positivity. Use this opportunity to tell a story that highlights your dedication to your craft and your connection to his legacy. Creativity is highly encouraged!
